The VisualDESIGNLab at Northern Arizona University offers a collaborative space for design students to gain first-hand experience with real-world clients. During the spring of 2025, I served as a visual design intern, working under the supervision of a faculty instructor, collaboratively with two peer designers, and in collaboration with a local community partner: The Coconino County Attorney’s Office to develop a new official logo and seal.

I N T E N T

Design a logo and official seal for the Coconino County Attorney’s office that reflect the brand’s identity, the people they serve, and the actions they take. “A sense of place” was among the most important aspects of the new design, emphasizing their vast jurisdiction, which includes several Navajo nations. The mission was to evoke a sense of public service, promote inclusivity, and create a brand that citizens feel safe interacting with.
